edhochuli  selftitled 12"11.00 €

Edhochuli is a four piece band from Pittsburgh, Pa who formed in August of 2008. Edhochuli's sound is pretty hard to describe because the band draws inspiration from a variety of sources and styles of music. Musically, Edhochuli mixes equal parts hardcore, sludge, and southern fried post hardcore. I had a hard time wrapping my head around the band's sound, which is definitely a great, so as far as drawing comparisons, you're pretty much on your own. The closest thing I can come up with is maybe a cross between the southern fried post hardcore sounds of bands like Every Time I Die mixed with bands like Breather Resist. Edhochuli features unpredictible guitarwork and unique song structures, which only adds a layer of complexity to the band's sound. This is the band's debut six song LP, which was released via The Ghost Is Clear and Ethospine Noise on June 30, 2013. Overall, these six songs make for an engaging, refreshing, and fun listen. Edhochuli is an absolute must listen for people looking to hear something different as far as hardcore bands go. Highly recommended! Enjoy! - from manic compression blog

tigon  infinite teeth 12"11.00 €

So yeah, here's the latest LP from San Francisco, CA's Tigon. Let me just start of by saying how ridiculously good this album is. Tigon have upped the ante with their latest LP. Infinite Teeth is the band's debut full length LP and features 9 new songs of material. I was actually thrown for a loop by this LP and the band has definitely progressed with their sound this time around. Tigon takes the off kilter weirdness of band's like Convulsions add a healthy dose of post hardcore similar to bands such as old Young Widows or Suicide Note, and add a bit of Rites Of Spring thrown into the mix for good measure. These combination of sounds make for a dynamic and compelling listen. Seriously, I can't begin to describe how good Infinite Teeth is. Another killer release from The Ghost Is Clear records. Highly recommended! Enjoy! - from manic compression blog

parents  selftitled 12"9.00 €

Stalwarts on the New Zealand underground hardcore/punk scene now, Parents, come out with their first full length, a self-titled release in 12” format, which sees them taking their screamo/post-hardcore sound in the vein of bands such as Envy, Orchid and P. 99 and bringing in noticeable influences from post-punk and post-rock. Their recent live shows have been indicative of these changes, still retaining their ferocious punk energy while also exhibiting more meditative, brooding songs which build up into final, crushing crescendos. They have been able to encapsulate this diversity in their sound with amazing conciseness; sparse sonic landscapes are juxtaposed with claustrophobic, noisy freakouts…and yet most of the songs still barely touch the two-minute mark. Unfortunately most covers we re slightly sliced open on the top during shipping from new zealand - so you get em for a fair price considering shipping and customs.

Sounds Like: Left for Dead with blast beats, screamo-influenced song structures/dynamics, and heavy parts that sound like Indecision. They were also one of the few bands who completely embodied the D.I.Y. ethic that many bands merely pay casual lip service to: they hand-printed their own shirts, cut/glued/printed their own vinyl covers from recycled jackets, booked their own tours, and each member ran their own labels and zines.

book of caverns  homes 12"11.00 €

Blending the line between soaring post rock melody and a passionate emotional drive, the songs on Book of Caverns latest offering named simply “Homes” come from many places. From the five individuals involved in the band comes an honest perspective. Together they weave harmony effortlessly and focus it into a chaotic fray when it cannot be held back any longer. Complimenting their unique focused sound are lyrics touching on a beautiful fear of the past, present, and future and the tremendous strength that can be found in those times of fear. Homes is a household built on the love of a city, the experiences we learn from and the friends and family we share them with.

cloud rat  moksha 12"10.00 €

CLOUD RATs Moksha is an absolutely insane, ripping piece of blastbeat driven grindcore, fueled by 90's screamo-violence, punk, various kinds of metal and all kinds of other noises. Lyrically, the songs shift between personal and sociopolitical topics (often painful and explicit dealing with issues of drugs, neglect, emotional/physical/sexual violence, abandonment, poverty, racism/sexism/homophobia, etc), usually delivered poetically rather than straightforward. A really intense and epic listening experience!

cloud rat / republic of dreams  split 12"10.00 €

US vs. Germany on this massive split. I have to say that Cloud Rat is the best US hardcore band going - their live set should not be missed as they deliver yet another round of venomous grinding hardcore filled with palpable anger and emotion. They just keep getting better and if you haven't heard any of their stuff before, you are missing out big time. Republic of Dreams is from Germany and rip through wild bursts of emo-violence with all the swirling riffs and high end chords you'd expect from these veterans of Louise Cyphre and Resurrectionists. This is chaos done to perfection, and the dark, long samples add to the feeling of tension. This has a lyrics booklet and a cover screen printed on recycled paper.

planks / lentic waters  split ( white vinyl ) 12"10.00 €

The A side shows Planks taking yet another step away from their Hardcore roots. In the vein of their last output The Darkest Of Grays, they deliver their unique blend of gloomy, melody ridden, downtuned heaviness that incooperate aspects of Doom, Black Metal and Dark Wave - but this time they even go one step further and take on Grunge methodologies in Leave And Never Come Back. All they did on their last records finds its way into these three tracks but everything seems more organized, filtered, more mature and in better sound. Lentic Waters' B side of the split delivers the first three new songs after their impressive first s/t LP. The still fairly new band took the time on the road during the weeks of tours they spent, to distinguish what they are capable of and what they do best. Those tracks bring their facets of grinding emoviolence, double-bass frenzy and super catchy melodies. Also the sound of the recording improved and therefore offers the listener a better inside into what this band is able to. Three string instruments that play three different things at the same time just to have one big harmony in the end. Melodies shattered by ravishing outbursts to flow into massive, epic endings. It should be interesting to see how much more this band has to offer in the future seeing the transition they undertook in such short time. The Split LP comes with drop-dead gorgeous, silver printed artwork by Pierre Johansson on heavy cardboard.

tempest  passages 12"10.00 €

damn i love canada! i fell in love with (diy) hardcore through bands like uranus and one eyed god prophecy ... again with buried inside and titan .... you know bands that have this heartfelt passion mixed with frustration and anger! so this is the newest eruption from canada called TEMPEST. and i m in love again ... Passages takes the listener through bitter and emotional crust, a trip that encompasses despondency, vitriolic rage and some really great sound samples. It's not a long record - in fact it's probably the perfect length, coming in at just over 24 minutes. The 7 tracks are of reasonable length but every single one is attention grabbing, not to mention the 7 minute epic self titled track that closes the album. I don't really have anything bad to say about this. Every moment of it is excellent, it certainly doesn't overstay its welcome and it has a great deal of replay value. "Dark Hardcore" to a tee, mixing aspects of Hardcore, Black Metal, and Crust in a unique blend of chaotic fury."
